As accounting professionals, you understand the complexities of tax preparation and the importance of ensuring that every taxpayer has access to accurate, reliable assistance. The IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free tax help to low- to moderate-income individuals and families, persons with disabilities, and limited English-speaking taxpayers.
VITA sites are located in local communities across the country, and volunteers come from all walks of life. Some are experienced tax professionals, while others may be retirees, students, or community members with a desire to give back. The IRS provides training and certification to ensure all volunteers are prepared to handle basic tax returns as well as help to make you a better, more efficient tax preparer. Whether you have a wealth of tax preparation experience or are new to the field, your skills can make a substantial impact on individuals and families in need.
Discover how you can get involved with the VITA program! During this session, we’ll discuss the various volunteer roles available, the training process, and how your expertise can be leveraged to support your community. Volunteering with VITA is a rewarding opportunity to use your professional skills while making a tangible difference in the lives of taxpayers who need it most.
